Riding Club
In the spring of 2004 a small group of dedicated horse/pony riders and owners got together and organised a local show on the village recreation ground. Following the show, the group were inundated with positive feedback and an overwhelming plea to start a local riding club and get it affiliated to the BHS Riding Clubs Area 10. This was done and Netherfield Equestrian Club was formed. Soon we had many members from Mountfield and so in 2010 it was decided to rename the club Netherfield & Mountfield Riding Club.
The objective was to have a local club that catered for everybody no matter what stage they were at in their riding, be it grass roots, average rider or the semi-professional, we cater for them all. In an effort to help us help you in 2010 we teamed up with Rushford Farm Equestrian at Three Cup Corner, there they have a small indoor school, a very large outdoor arena and a cross country course, in addition they have a refreshment kiosk that is open on all show days. All these facilities are available to use by the club for our various events throughout the year.
Throughout the year we run various clinics as well as a Dressage series, jumping competitions and cross country competitions, in addition we hold an annual show as well as children’s days which consist of gymkhanas, flatwork and jumping, this is usually followed by a picnic tea.
We hope you will enjoy looking through our new web site which will contain information about all our events as the year progresses.
